“If we want to make this great state of Pakistan happy and prosperous, we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well-being of the people and especially of the masses and the poor.” [Quad-e-Azam]

Project Plan

  • Land Purchase.

The land purchase is one of the most cruical aspects of the project as the location of the orphanage is key in assuring the safety and security of the orphans. Multiple trips have been made to Pakistan in order to search for land and to ensure it is the best place to build an orphanage.

We have now managed to purchase land in an area of Kotli which is in close proximity to a hospital, shops, police station and other services such as schools and colleges. It also has access to running water and drainage which can be an issue in cities such as Kotli and is in a family neighbourhood with road access from both sides. It is an ideal plot of land which will allow the construction of a safe and secure orphanage and have the potential to be a thriving community hub and centre.

  • The Build.

We are now in the construction phase of the orphanage. The orphanage will be designed to ensure the children have a safe and secure place they can call home. It will have living quarters with bedrooms and bathrooms alongside studies, play areas, garden, prayer area, kitchen and living quarters for employees.

There will also be dedicated areas for study and tuition for all students. Which will then be converted into a community hub in the evening, providing vocational studies and courses to women in the community.

  • Completion

The orphanage will aim to home 20-30 orphan girls to begin with. The orphans will be sourced from the poorest parts of Pakistan and in particular girls living on the streets. Research for this is underway and we are working with multiple agencies in order to understand the demographics of street children and exactly where the children will come from.

Project Update

The project was launched in 2018 and fundraising efforts began. However, a substantial amount was not raised for the land and fundraising was then brought to a halt due to COVID. However, research for the project continued and the search for land continued.

Fundraising then resumed and two trips were made in 2021 and one in 2022 in order to continue research and work. Inflation and rising living costs has seen the stark rise in prices for land in Pakistan, making it difficult to secure the land with the funds raised so fundraising continued in 2023 and 2024.

We have now been able to purchase the land after our recent trip to Pakistan in January 2025. The land is costing approximately £50,000 including all legal fees. All money previously raised has gone towards the purchase of the land. The aim now is to raise enough this year to begin the build.
